What The Minds Matter Stands For

The Minds Matter was created for people who want care that goes deeper than coping strategies or quick advice- care that moves at a trauma-aware and sustainable pace.

It’s for you when you want:

  • A clear, grounded approach to therapy that supports depth and direction
  • A therapist who respects both clinical foundations and mind–body wisdom
  • Support that feels human, steady, and intentional—not rushed or mechanical
  • Structured support for clients navigating recovery after a car accident in Alberta

The work here blends:

  • Clinical counselling (trauma-informed, regulated, structured)
  • Mind–body practices (somatic awareness, breathwork, meditation)
  • Subconscious-based work (clinical hypnotherapy, inner child/parts work)
  • Holistic supports (Bach Flower Remedies, when aligned and desired)
  • MVA counselling (structured, recovery-focused support after motor vehicle accidents in Alberta)
  • Clinical counselling (trauma-informed, regulated, structured)

Everything is grounded in clinical training and regulation, and offered at a pace that honours your capacity.

Our Mission

At The Minds Matter, the mission is rooted in one intention:

To create a steady, compassionate space where insight can emerge - and to anchor you as you integrate those insights into sustainable change.

When we slow down, insight has space to land - and space to become real, grounded change.

In this work, we slow things down just enough for you to:

  • Feel safe, steady, and present with yourself
  • Notice what you’re feeling and why
  • Understand the “who, what, when, where, and why” behind your thoughts, emotions, and reactions

This space is about tending the soil.

It is about creating conditions where change can take root and grow —thoughtfully, respectfully, and at a pace that feels right for you.

Our Vision

The Minds Matter is currently a one-on-one counselling practice—and it is also a growing, evolving space.

The long-term vision is to grow Minds Matter into:

  • A collaborative, integrated mental health space
  • With workshops, retreats, and circles
  • Supported by a global community of healing
  • Built together with clients and a future team of like-hearted practitioners

For now, the work is one person at a time, one session at a time. The vision is to carry the same values—stillness, awareness, intention, and care—into larger spaces in the future.

What This Space Feels Like

Minds Matter is designed to feel:

  • Structured, but never rigid – there is a clear frame and direction
  • Warm, but always boundaried – supportive and attuned, while honoring your space, pace and autonomy.
  • Clinical, but deeply human – rooted in ethics, training and supervision - delivered with presence, compassion and attunement.

Holistic, but never vague – every modality is intentional, consent-based, and integrated with clinical clarity.

In sessions, you can expect:

  • Time to slow down and reconnect with yourself
  • A grounded place to explore, regulate and understand what’s coming up for you
  • A therapist who collaborates with you - talking, pausing, reflecting and co-regulating as needed

Occasional metaphors, small bits of humour, and jargon-free language—because the work is serious, but the space doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time

A Space That Welcomes All of You

Minds Matter is an inclusive, affirming space for:

  • LGBTQIA+ clients
  • Neurodivergent clients
  • Culturally diverse, immigrant, and third-culture individual
  • People holding layered identities, spiritual questions, or complex life experiences

You’re welcome to bring your culture, language, spiritual beliefs, questions, grief, or the parts of you that have felt “too much” or “too sensitive” elsewhere.

You are not expected to shrink here.
